Tweak Scratch

Here’s a tip on a term commonly used in the world of DJs. Turning the motor of one of your turntables off and then moving the platter back and forth with your fingers does the Tweak Scratch. You can use the fader to produce transformer-sounding scratches, but you don’t have to use the fader at all. Because the motor is turned off, the record will continue to move in the direction you have propelled the record, decaying slowly as the drag from the needle and tone arm slow the record down.
