Some DJs these days feel
that they can’t put on their best performance unless they’re drunk or high.
My feeling on this is I won’t sit in judgment on anybody, but consider
this. None of us would down a six pack, smoke a joint and then drive a
car. Well, operating two turntables, a mixer, matching BPMs, juggling beats
and the rest of what DJs must do on a moment-to-moment basis is a hell
of a lot more complicated than driving. The skills and style you possess
comes from within you, not from any external stimulant.
