Here’s another
tip on ‘beat juggling.’ To create alternate beat patterns, start your cross-fade
after 2 beats of the 4 beat phrase that you have selected. Back-cue the
first record during those 2 beats and slam the cross-fader back. Now you
can loop a 2 beat cycle instead of a 4 beat cycle. As your skills improve,
you can create various rhythm patterns by sequencing other beats at syncopated
parts of the song that you’re beat juggling over.
