Here’s a tip
on a term commonly used in the world of DJs. Airplane Scratch, Phasing and Flanging are
all terms referring to the same thing. This is the sound that occurs when
you have two identical records on two turntables and the
cross-fader is in the middle. As it is almost impossible to absolutely
match the beat, you will hear a sound produced by the harmonics beginning
to cascade. This sound is reminiscent of an airplane taking off.
